Using textures and art overlays

Before and After Examples

I'm really excited about this set of texture overlays as I haven't created any textures for a while but getting back to creating some has been a lot of fun and I think they turned out really well.

To view a before and after texture effect simply roll over the image below.

Below are images using the Winter Wonderland Texture & Overlay set which is obviously centered around a winter theme. So easy to use, simply open your image in photoshop or elements and place or drag the texture in on the layer above the image you want to use the texture on and then change the blending mode to screen. Depending on the look you want to achieve for your final image you can play with the various blending modes, duplicate the texture layer or add in other textures as well.

Just for fun, this set also includes fog overlays and 3 painterly textures overlays, that all work really well for either winter scenes or floral and landscape images.

The set includes 11 Frosted Textures | 7 Snow Overlays | 7 Fog Overlays | 4 Painterly Effect Textures for a total of 29 textures and overlays.

What makes using textures so much fun is that you can personalize the look just by changing the blending modes or changing to black & white, using adjustment layers, also layer masks to mask out certain areas of the texture layer and don't forget to play with the opacity as well.  These were designed to be used mainly with the screen blending mode but depending on the image you are using other blend modes can certainly be used. Experimentation is the name of the game.

Here are some more examples of finished images to show you some of the looks that can be achieved by using these textures, simply arrow through the images to view using the arrows just below the viewer.
